South Coast Jaunt
A friend and I had planned a trip to London but the day before we got permission to photograph inside Saltdean Lido on the first weekend it was open to the public after refurbishment. Building work was still being completed but most of the rooms were empty so ideal for capturing the Art Deco architecture. Heading down from Norfolk to Brighton we started early and had a breakfast stop at Nell’s Cafe on the A2 which is a favourite stop on the way to Kent but only a short diversion today and probably qucker than stopping at motorway services.
We scouted out the beach at Saltdean looking for potential long eposure shots later in the day and just taking a few phone shots.
The staff at the Lido welcomed us and after showing us around we were able to start our work with some drone shots from the terrace. Moving inside we covered each room so that we could provide the Lido with some photos for them to use, as they are a community run enterprise we were happy to do this in exchange for the opportunity. So we shot some more arty photos for ourselves and documentary shots for them.

Once we had finished we made our way along to Brighton beach to photograph the West Pier at sunset. The next morning we went to Seven Sisters country park before driving home.
